New Science Fiction Enthralls Readers With an Amazingly Detailed Plot

Burdell, Australia (PRWEB) November 24, 2011

Gilbert W. G. Cameron combines futurism and current environmental issues in an intriguing story that is at equal turns enigmatic and strikingly real.

“Planes fall out of the sky because their pilots die at the controls. Pandemic rages out of control across the planet, seems to be one hundred percent fatal, millions die all over the world. Authorities helpless!” The headline says in the newspapers strewn into the ground as John McGrath, a 32-year old stockbroker, walks around the deserted streets of London in the first few pages of The New Beginning.

Gilbert W.G. Cameron introduces readers to John McGrath who goes home from work early because he is not feeling well, possibly the start of the usual winter flu. By late evening, he has a raging temperature and is vomiting continuously. If he had not felt so bad and had any strength in his limbs, he would have made his way to the hospital. When he eventually wakes up, he finds that his apartment is freezing cold with central heating not working at all. As he went outside, he finds dead bodies lying on the street, vehicles are crashed all over the place with dead bodies in some of them and there is no one about anywhere.

The New Beginning combines futurism and current environmental issues in an intriguing science fiction that is at equal turns enigmatic and strikingly real. Cameron writes in the book’s dedication page:

“I dedicate this book to the way the world is going at the present moment. We never seem to learn from the past, every day we help to destroy the planet a bit more.”

An enthralling work of the author’s, The New Beginning is filled with characters that each reader can relate to and amazingly detailed subplots.
